Sister Heather DeVore

Heather DeVore, M.D. is an emergency medicine physician at Washington Hospital Center, the busiest emergency department in Washington, D.C.. She is also the medical director for the DC Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program which provides medical forensic examinations and evidence collection for all adult sexual assault victims in the District of Columbia.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Heather began traveling in a clockwise spiral pattern after high school, landing initially at the University of Los Angeles, California for her undergraduate degree in mathematics. Subsequent moves included the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, back to UCLA for her residency training in emergency medicine and finally settling in McLean, Virginia.

Heather's husband, Trevor DeVore, and three young children provide ample diagnostic, medication-dispensing, splinting, suturing, and bandaging opportunities on her days away from the hospital. In her spare time, Heather enjoys running, re-organizing and searching for their pet tortoise that got away.
